Linguistic basis

Write what you wish, and the dictionary will analyze it to break apart compound words and find base forms.

Dictionaries for Livonian and Finnish are based on the lexical materials and scientific research behind the Livonian-Estonian-Latvian dictionary by Tiit-Rein Viitso and Valts Ernštreits. Finnish translation work, content analysis and coordination is being continued in Helsinki by Renate Blumberga with funding from the Kone Foundation.

olo ↔ fin

Dictionaries for Livvi Karelian (Olonets) and Finnish are based on lexical material from the Livvi language newspaper "Oma mua" and a large array of dictionaries. Translation work is being conducted at the University of Helsinki by Timo Rantakaulio with funding from the Kone Foundation.
